Remember Who the Fuck You Are
This is advice that I have both given and received lately. I’ve needed to hear it. My friends have needed to hear it. Maybe you need to hear it, too.
And exactly who the fuck are you? While you certainly would know better than I, I suspect you are some combination of:
Wisdom.
Grace.
Grit.
Tenacity.
Intuition.
Possibility.
Purpose.
You know Who You Are. I know Who I Am. And yet, sometimes, we forget.
We are prone to forgetting when:
We get busy.
We get hungry, tired, lonely, or pissed off.
We experience a loss.
We have a big, scary decision to make.
We ignore our instincts.
We mistake our circumstances with our identity.
We confuse our feelings with our truth.
Fortunately, who you are, who you know yourself to be in the deep-down of your gut and the way-back of your heart, is not fragile. Who you are doesn’t get easily shaken, even when your world feels like it has been shaken. Who You Are is unwavering, unshakeable, sustaining.
And so I’d like to remind you, dear one, from the most certain, relentless part of me to the most certain, relentless part of you:
In whatever you are experiencing, no matter how hard or how heavy:
